JC BOOTCAMP 1

Teenagers aged 14-17 that are interested in being a Junior Counselor (JC) must attend a JC Bootcamp training to learn the necessary information to be a successful JC.
We offer two JC Bootcamp sessions per summer to accommodate schedules. JCs are only required to attend one JC Bootcamp session during their time as a JC. Once you have successfully completed the training, you do not have to take it again.These sessions are from 9 am to around noon. Lunch will be provided.
At the completion of the training, JCs will receive information on how to contact deans to ask to join their staff list. Deans are not required to accept every JC that contacts them. We recommend JCs reach out to deans they want to serve with as soon as possible. There is no guarantee that deans will have room on their staff.
We offer a 50% discount to each camper that attends JC Bootcamp to Deeper Life Camp.

Hey! I’m Ethan Coltrain, Connections Minister at First Church of Christ in Washington, NC. RCC has been super influential in my life as a camper, volunteer and camp dean. Day Camp is super exciting, as for some, it is their first ever camp experience. At day camp, students will experience a fun filled day of interactive bible lessons, worship, crafts, recreation time and more. Our hope is to provided a fun glimpse of the amazing place RCC is and help establish a love for continual growth in their walk with Christ through camp experiences. We are excited and look forward to seeing everyone in June!

Bible Story: Jesus Walking on Water (Matthew 14:22-34)
Day Camp is a fantastic introduction of all the fun and excitement camp has to offer for your little ones without the fear of an overnight stay. Day Camp 1 will be a fun filled day of memorable bible lessons, joyful worship, creative crafts and super fun games! Our goal for the day is to provide an inviting atmosphere, show them the love of Jesus and send them home with great excitement of returning to camp for many years to come. Our theme this year is “Trust in God”. Our bible lesson, crafts, games and worship will encourage our campers to “Trust in God” in all areas of life. Most of our staff for the day are camp veterans that will ensure your camper has a great day! We are looking forward to a fun day and making new friends! In Christ, Ethan Coltrain

Dean: Emily Upchurch
Emily is the Children’s Director at Two Rivers Church of Christ in New Bern, NC. She began volunteering at Roanoke Christian Camp as a Dean of Day Camp in 2015. Emily is passionate about finding creative ways to teach children about Jesus and loves spending time with her husband and three kids.
At Day Camp 2, we will learn that We Can Obey God! We will be diving in the ocean with Jonah and learning how to make the right decision. Throughout the day we will be making some ocean themed crafts and playing fun water games. We will learn that God loves us no matter what!
